TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • This Championship is open to female amateur golfers who are active NYSGA Members with an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index
  • Golfers in the senior and super senior division must be at least 50 and 65 years old, respectively, as of August 22, 2023.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Entries: All players must register online prior to the established deadline (see below). Entries by mail or fax will not be accepted.
  • Fee: $225 - includes three rounds of golf with cart, tee gifts, the player banquet, and awards.
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Tuesday, August 8, 2023). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or via email at deb@nysga.org): Prior to Deadline: Entry fee less $20. After the Deadline: Entry fee less $50.

 

FIELD SIZE, WAIT LIST, AND HANDICAP REVIEW

  • Field Size: 120 players (72 - senior division, 48 super senior division)
  • Wait List Procedure:   If either division exceeds it's capacity, the field will be selected "low-to-high", based on the player's USGA Handicap Index as of the entry close date. A player who does not qualify via this procedure to play in the Championship will have their full entry refunded either (1) when they ask to be removed from the wait list or (2) once the tournament starts.
  • Handicap Review: A player may be subject to Handicap review. The NYSGA reserves the right to amend the field/wait list.

 

FORMAT, DIVISIONS, & TIES

  • Format: This Championship will be conducted over 36 holes of individual stroke play.
  • Divisions: There are two separate divisions in this Championship (see below). A player 65 or older can choose to play in the 50+ division by request to the NYSGA (champs@nysga.org).
    • 70th NYS Women's Senior Amateur Championship (ages 50+)
      • Gold Tees: 5,190y - par 71
    • 16th NYS Women's Super Senior Amateur Championship (ages 65+).
      • Red Tees: 4,954y - par 71
  • Age Groups: In addition to competing in one of the Championship divisions listed above, players will also compete within the following age divisions: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
  • Ties: The player in each Championship with the lowest score for 18 holes will be the champion. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play. If there is a tie for the winner in the Age Groups, the tie will be broken using the USGA's method of matching scorecards.

 

CADDIES

The use of a caddie is approved.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of golf carts is required and payment is included in the entry fee.

 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS

Complete Championship details, including information about pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed to players and posted on this website after entries close.

 

TEE TIME REQUESTS
The NYSGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Tuesday, August 8th (
click here). All requests are not guaranteed. Pairing requests will not be accepted.
